Manned Camera Limited was established by Kieron Jansch ACO in 2015. From our dedicated camera test and preparation premises in Brockley, SE London, we strive to offer one of the most reliable and skilled camera department hire services to be found in the UK.
We specialise in camera, lens, and grip hire offered on a “wet hire” basis, where our top-of-the-line equipment is accompanied by highly experienced camera department crew members. Our Managing Director Kieron is frequently available to serve as B Unit DOP, Camera Operator or 1st Assistant Camera, and has an enduring love of drama projects of all kinds.
Our particular expertise is in providing a complete camera department service to feature films, in which we aim to become an integral part of the production from the earliest stages. We offer technical advice and pre-production support to the project’s Director of Photography; camera and lens testing facilities to help inform the DOP and Director about equipment choices appropriate to the look they wish to create; advice to the project’s Line Producer to make the very best use of the available budget, and crucially, a comprehensive one-stop-shop, sourcing everything the camera department might need, from equipment to crew to camera unit vehicles; the goal being to allow the production’s HODs to concentrate on their creative vision.
Ahead of principle photography we spend time and care in getting to know the Director and DOP’s particular vision for the project, so that when it comes to turning over a camera we know the images being captured are truly in service of the story being told.
