Manned Camera Limited – Terms of Business
First Time Clients
We welcome new clients, in particular for drama projects, and we look forward to working with you. If it is the first time however, we do insist on meeting prior to planned shooting dates, and on payment, in full, in advance.
For all clients we require full name, address and date of birth details, or company registration details in the case of limited companies.
We are happy to move on to 30 day payment terms for clients with whom we have worked several times. The exception being in the case of significant cross hire expenses (see below).
We are happy to provide a one stop shop for all the equipment you might need on a shoot, and can cross hire anything we don’t have at very competitive rates.
If there is a significant element of cross hire or expenses involved in a project however (more than 50% of the invoice total), we require payment in advance for that element. The balance would then be treated on “in advance” or “30 day” terms, as above.
We currently offer discounts to projects on which we can work with an experienced D.O.P. to improve our lighting skills.
In that instance we are happy to offer a “Manned Camera” reduction on our equipment. Additionally, the discount is also applicable to crewing services during 2016.
A 40% reduction applies to invoices paid in advance of shooting dates
A 20% reduction applies to invoices paid on 30 day terms
No discount is applied to invoices paid on 60 day terms
No discount applies to cross hired equipment and expenses, which are passed on at cost
Any discount specified in an invoice will be removed in the instance that it remains unpaid for 60 days or more.
In addition to the discounts applicable for prompt payment, we also offer further discounts for shoots longer than four days.
For shoots up to and including one week in length, we apply only four chargeable days. This applies up to four weeks.
For shoots over four weeks in length, we apply only twelve chargeable days per 28 day period. This applies up to eight weeks
Please contact us for a quote for shoots in excess of eight weeks in length
To qualify for a discount we require payment in advance of shooting dates. We also require payment in advance for first time clients.
If you wish to move on to 30 day terms, we are happy for you to do so once we have developed a good working relationship, however please note that the discount applicable to 30 day terms is lower.
In line with HMRC guidance on overdue payments, without exception all overdue invoices will be subject to interest of 8% above Bank of England base rate.
An administration fee will also be payable on the following scale for all overdue invoices:
- £40 administration fee on invoices up to £999.99
- £70 administration fee on invoices up to £9,999.99
- £100 administration fee on invoices over £10,000.00
In the circumstance that an invoice remains unpaid in excess of 60 days we reserve the right to pass your account to our debt collection service. Please note that in these circumstances, any discount (see above) applicable to the invoice will be removed and a new invoice for the revised amount will be generated. Any additional costs involved in recovering overdue accounts will be passed on to the client.
Please note that cancellation fees will apply in the following circumstances:
For all bookings cancelled within 48 hours of the booking date: 25% of the invoice total
For all bookings that involve cross hired equipment, cancelled within 48 hours of the booking date: 25% of invoice total, plus 100% of cross hire expenses
For all bookings cancelled within 24 hours of the booking date: 50% of the invoice total
For all bookings that involve cross hired equipment, cancelled within 24 hours of the booking date: 50% of invoice total, plus 100% of cross hire expenses
We require adequate all risks “hired in” equipment insurance to be in place for the entirety of the shooting dates (including prep and pack down days), with a sum assured of at least £130,000 plus V.A.T.
The insurance policy must also make provision for “continuing hire” charges.
Evidence of insurance may be required, and permission must be granted for Manned Camera Limited’s representative to contact your insurer to validate the policy.
If your production does not have its own insurance, we can offer cover under our own policy at the rate of £35 per day. Please note: a £250 excess applies to each and every claim made under Manned Camera Limited’s insurance policy.
No equipment will be delivered to set without insurance.
Any expenses incurred during a shoot are the responsibility of the client.
We will detail all expenses in a separate section of your invoice, and will pass these on at cost.
In the case of significant expenses (whether it be crossed hired equipment, or otherwise), by which we mean expenses in excess of 50% of the invoice total, payment is required in advance (see “Cross Hire” above).
